French Alps inspiration for a challenging plan

Does your plan match the challenge?

A plan that’s about growing and stretching yourself can look pretty flat on a piece of paper. Week 2 looks no different from week 1, maybe a few more words.

Putting your plan on a landscape can make sense of the challenge, and inspire you when the doubts turn up.

Week 1 looks like the flat gentle trail. It feels too easy, but like a run warm-up, this should be the introduction to your body and mind that yes you’re doing something.

Week 2 begins the climb up the valley side. It’s a little harder, bit more stretching. What tasks would fit this landscape?

Week 3 has a fork on the trail. Do you go all-in for the steeper direct climb, or continue the pace of week 2?

Week 4 is the celebration. The top of the mountain with beautiful, rewarding views, before the descent and return to week 1.

Restart the schedule, back to week 1. Which maybe a little more comfortable than the first few times you tried this. Building stamina. Some days will feel like going backwards.

When I put this on paper, there is an image behind it, reminding me of where I am on this journey. If I feel I’m not doing enough the first week, then I remember the challenge ahead. If week 1 feels exhausting, then I need to change the pace.

Adapting, being flexible, and playing on the journey.
